Open the link on your iPhone. If rn isn't installed you'll be sent to the App Store first — install it, sign in with the number the invitation was sent to, and it'll be waiting for you. The link only works for that number, so make sure you're signing in with the right one.
Almost always location. rn needs Always to keep your card current when the app is closed — with “While Using”, your card only updates in the seconds rn is actually open, so your people see a you from hours ago. Settings → rn → Location → Always. The app shows a banner when this is the problem.
Three things it's usually one of. rn only shows photos you've hearted, and only from the last 24 hours — anything older isn't eligible. It needs Full Access to your library, because with limited access it can only see photos you re-pick by hand and can never notice a new heart. And a safety check holds back anything that looks like a document, a card number or a private photo; when that happens the app tells you on your own card.
Settings → “What your card can show” lists every signal, what it gives away, and whether yours is on. Each one can be switched off, and your card stops showing it immediately.
Settings → Pause my card, for 24 hours, until you're next home, or until you turn it back on. Your circle sees “paused” — which is honest, rather than a you that silently stopped updating. A timed pause lifts itself, so you can't vanish by forgetting.
Open their card and choose “Remove from circle”. The connection is deleted for both of you and neither of you appears to the other. You can always invite them again.
